The coastline of this country has a rich
harvest of food material. Our ancestors would have relied upon
the seashore to provide a major portion of their diet, especially
during the lean times of the year. Edible seaweeds, molluscs,
fish and coastal plants are abundant in the clean and clear
waters of South Devon. This day out on the beaches and bays
of this beautiful coastline will be spent foraging on the strandline,
rock-pool rambling, snorkelling, beachcombing and preparing
a diverse menu of seashore foods using a number of different
cooking methods.
There may also be time for a spot of fishing, swimming and
paddling so please feel free to bring swimsuits/wetsuits/snorkels
etc
