WildWise invites you on holiday! An invigorating
weekend spent on the fascinating beaches and bays of this wild
and beautiful section of the South West coastline. Choose between
an exciting blend of structured, creative activity and exploration
to make the most of our surroundings, and some hang out time
by the fire, or fishing or walking to secret coves. Evenings
will be spent around the campfire, stargazing, making music
and listening to storyteller, Spindle Wayfarer telling tales
of smugglers and old sea-dogs!
The coastline of this country has a rich harvest of food material.
Sunday will be spent foraging on the strandline, rock-pool
rambling, snorkelling, beachcombing and preparing a diverse
menu of seashore foods using a number of different cooking
methods. Our ancestors would have relied upon the seashore
to provide a major portion of their diet, especially during
the lean times of the year. Edible seaweeds, molluscs, fish
and coastal plants are abundant in the clean and clear waters
of South Devon.
Cost: £125 adults, £55 children, £275
families
