This day will explore how to make environmental tales real
for young people (from tots to teenagers). Through using natural
resources, Katrice will help participants look at ways leaders
and teachers can help their learners make stories through a
number of tactile and visual media. These will include shadow
techniques, storylines, bags, boxes sacks, photostories and
many more. We will explore how to tell stories to and with
young people and use them as a stimulus for them to look for
stories of their own in the outdoors. The day will look at
how to help develop sequential thinking, speaking and listening
skills.
Event Leader - Katrice Horsley has been telling and playing
with stories for 15 years and has worked as a consultant, using
stories as her main tool for organisations such as UNICEF,
British Council, UNHCR and many more.
The course fee includes all instruction and materials.
The day will run between 9.30am and 4.30pm in Dartington,
just outside Totnes.
