What the Press Have to Say:

"So perhaps I had changed... I had abandoned my time structure without withdrawal pains. I had been stopped in my tracks by my first sight of a skylark. I had walked barefoot long enough to forget I had no shoes. I had experienced Devon's beautiful wilderness in ways I had never known before."
ALAN BESTIC, Sunday Telegraph

What our Clients Have to Say:

Public Events

"Just wanted to thank you and your team for a fantastic experience at the weekend. We had a wonderful time, the setting and the mix of activities were brilliant, loved the stories around the fire and calling to the owls! You have inspired me to make more time to get out into nature & to look at things differently." JO SWIFT

"We thought the Wild Night Out was excellent. We wanted to thank all those involved for the considerable effort that had clearly gone into the event (before, during and after). It was our first time on one of your events, so we didn't quite know what to expect - suffice to say we were not disappointed. Possibly the most impressive feature was how quickly a collection of strangers developed a quiet sense of community in the shared experience, with the sessions round the campfire particularly bringing this out. The format provided a pleasing balance between rest, recreation and education." NICK HILL and family

ROB HOPKINS, founder of the Transition Town movement, came on our River Safari in 2006 with his family. He writes in his blog "The great thing about an event like the River Safari is that it immerses people into the magic of Nature, as well as taking people out of the cocoon of daily life. Mary-Jayne Rust, the eco-psychologist I met with last year, talks about how immersion in Nature is one of the most powerful tools for reconnecting people with the world, and for giving them the space to rethink their relationship with it.

It was great for the kids to experience collecting cockles from the beach and cooking them, seeing how to make fire with no newspaper, making soap from horse chestnut leaves, which are the tastiest seaweeds, and how, in a canoe, they can’t sit back and expect everything to be done for them, they are part of a team, and that they are an essential part of making it to the other side! It was also amazing to spend time on the river, connecting to this bioregion and what a beautiful place it is."

Corporate

" I was emailing to let you know how pleased we all were with the afternoon of bushcraft and how much we all enjoyed it! It was a real inspiration and definitely the best team day we have had. Everyone is still talking about it now and there are rumours of doing something similar next year!"
LAURA SMITH, Labour Market Analyst, Skills & Learning Intelligence Module, Marchmont Observatory, University of Exeter

" I can only describe the night as magical - just the kind of experience that everyone should have to encourage a 'closer to nature' feeling. I returned home on a high which lasted several days and I know we all took home memories that will last a life-time."
SUE BESWICK, South Hams District Council

Training

"Thanks for the two days - it was just what we needed and has put some more fire and passion back into our work and lives."
MARY RITSON, Great Torrington Nursery School

"Well-structured, good activities. Very relevant ... showed how to be creative in the classroom and how the environment acts as a tool to encapsulate all learning styles."
